We came up with the prefix Dara as our first Welsh A pony and foundation mare is called Southwaite Charity. While looking through a name book, we saw the name Dara meant Charity so we had to have it.
We are a small family run stud, based in the Hampshire area. We have had horses for 20 years now, but it’s only been in the last 5 years that we started to own Welsh A ponies and we only set our stud up this year. We brought our first Welsh A from the Southwaite Stud, she is a lovely mare who has done very well in the show ring and produced us a stunning filly foal this year, Dara Cheeky Girl, who came 2nd at her first show this year.
Last year we decided that we would like to own a colt and bring on to use as our stud stallion. We purchased Southwaite Cabaret from the Southwaite Stud as well. We also purchased Ronswood Gina and Ronswood Fancy That from the Ronswood Stud to use with Cabaret once he is licensed.
